Lara and Hannah’s Wedding Celebration Family Reunion Picnic Potluck Extravaganza

Saturday, September 19, 2026
Fuchsia Dell in Golden Gate Park
San Francisco, California

Know you’re coming? RSVP here!

This is not a wedding!

We plan to marry privately at San Francisco City Hall on Friday, September 18. The next day, Saturday, we’ve rented the Fuchsia Dell in Golden Gate Park to ring in the occasion with friends and family.

Saturday’s picnic potluck will be exactly that – a gathering in the park to spend time with the people we love the most – basically a combined family reunion and informal wedding reception. We’ll bring food and drink, but if you’d like to contribute you can bring a dish. Dish signups will be coordinated in an excel sheet closer to the event.

There will also be plenty of yard games to play (think cornhole, ladder toss, three-legged racing, etc.), so come ready to compete.

We’ll send email updates & RSVP info to the email addresses that we receive through the form above!

Dress Code

Colorful, fun, and layered! But not white ;)

Here are some visuals to help: Dress Code Inspiration

San Francisco can get pretty warm or pretty cold, so we recommend being prepared for either. Sunglasses and light clothes, and plenty of layers – maybe even a beanie if the forecast looks cloudy.

Location – and how to get there!

Our site in Golden Gate Park is the Fuchsia Dell. There isn’t much parking in the area, so we recommend taking a bus, train, Bay Wheels (or personal!) bike, or Waymo/Uber/Lyft to get there.

The 5 & 33 buses stop right nearby, and there’s a Bay Wheels bike dock across the street from the site by the Panhandle (on Fell St). If you’re willing to walk a bit farther, you can take the N train to Stanyan and Carl Street stop. The 37 and the 7 buses stop about ~5 blocks away as well.

Of course, to people traveling, we highly recommend you try out a Waymo, the autonomous taxi service. From what we’ve heard, the app isn’t available outside of the US app store, so if you’re travelling internationally, it might not work for you.

For our out-of-towners opting for public transportation, be sure and download the Clipper card app onto your phone. That’s our local transit payment system. Here’s their website:

Accommodations

For people coming in from out of town who are looking for a hotel, below are a few spots we like. If you’re coming in from out of town and looking to couchsurf, reach out to Hannah or Lara so we can find a couch.

The Metro Hotel
A small, boutique hotel on Divisadero Street. Close to plenty of restaurants, cafés, and neighborhood spots.

Parker Guest House
A charming, garden-filled bed and breakfast just steps from Dolores Park and within walking distance of our apartment. Cozy, welcoming, and very “San Francisco.”

Stanyan Park Hotel
A Victorian-style hotel right next to Golden Gate Park and walking distance from the party location at Fuchsia Dell. Classic and convenient.

Beck’s Motor Lodge
A fun, retro motor lodge in the Castro. Updated and comfortable, and also very close to our apartment. Great if you like a little vintage character.

Noe’s Nest Bed & Breakfast
A colorful, eclectic B&B near Valencia Street, one of the most walkable neighborhoods in the city with lots of great shops and restaurants.

A quick note on where to stay:
Although you can find some very inexpensive hotels in and around the Tenderloin area of San Francisco, we would recommend choosing another neighborhood if possible. There are many wonderful, walkable areas that will give you a much better experience of the city (and be closer to the celebration).

FAQ

How does the potluck work for people traveling from out of state?

If you’re traveling from out of state – or even out of country! – no need to bring anything.

What time will the ceremony start?

Trick question! There won’t be a ceremony. But fun and games will probably start between 11am and noon.

What can I bring?

If you want to bring something, you can bring a dish for the potluck, a picnic blanket, or camping chairs.

Can I bring a plus one?

Absolutely. Our preference is to have already met everyone at the party, so if we’ve met them, go ahead, but if we haven’t, try to introduce us beforehand.

How do I get you a gift?

We don’t need anything. We’ve been living together for 7 years, so we’ve got everything we need for our home. In general we’re asking for no gifts – while we’re saving for a house in San Francisco in the long term, in the short term we don’t really have the space for more items in our apartment. We just want to spend time with everyone!
